Carne asada

Carne Asada, somehting I can't live without. This recipieis so good, I dont miss the taco trucks anymore. Dont tell but I use my buffalo wing sauce for them, or the Salsa Verdea when making these. And dont be fooled by the kiwi, its a key ingredent to tenderising the steak.

Ingredients

Marinated

  • ¼ cup garlic cloves
  • ½ cup red onion
  • 6 each scallions
  • 3 each Ancho chilie Keep 1 cup of the water
  • ½ bunch cilantro Stems are fine, thats what i use most of the time
  • 1 cup Ancho chile water From stepping the chilie
  • 1 each orange Zest & Juice
  • 2 each lime Zest & juice
  • ½ each Kiwi
  • ¼ cup dark soy sauce or 1 ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 lbs skirt steak or flank

Instructions

Prep the Chilie

  • Step the Ancho Chilie in hot water, covered for 10 mins
  • Remove the Chili, cut top off and discard.
  • Cut chili in half and remove ribs and seeds.

Blend the ingredents

  • Add the chilie and the rest of the ingredents to a blender and mix

Marinade skirt steak

  • Place marinade in zip lock bag. A min of 1 hr, max of 2 days. The longer the better.
